Wedding season is upon us, as well as the sun and the sand (insert multiple sunny emojis here). Beautiful weddings can take place close to home, but many couples are taking their special moment on the road. My newlywed sister and her husband decided to take the plunge and get hitched away from home. The weekend resembled a family vacation, only this time, it was a vacation where two families became one (typing this while scrolling through all of the adorable wedding photos)! So, if you are planning your special day consider these three reasons why you should have a destination wedding!

1. Less Stressful
Mexico
We all know that weddings can be stressful from planning seating arrangements, sending out vast amount of wedding invitations, and so much more. So why not take a load off your shoulders and consider a destination wedding? Destination weddings usually include your closest family and friends, which allows you to not stress about catering to a hundred or more guest. You can also hire a local event planner to handle all of the ins and outs of your big day, which would give you the freedom to enjoy your time once you arrive to the special destination. Lastly, work out all the kinks in advance, this will allow you to be stress free leading up to your big day, and allowing you the chance to truly enjoy the moment.

2. Make Intimate & Memorable Memories With Your Guest

In the midst of two weeks, I was a bridesmaid/maid of honor for two weddings. One was a small, intimate destination wedding with roughly forty people in attendance. While the other was a local, beautiful wedding that had about two hundred guest. They were both great weddings with gorgeous brides, but I fell in love with a smaller, more intimate wedding. There was not as much pressure to be a part of a smaller wedding crowd because you know that if something went wrong… it would not ruin the fun wedding atmosphere. For instance, my boyfriend, although being extremely careful, cracked a vase fifteen minutes before the ceremony. Good thing is no one noticed, the bride was still beautiful, they still got married, and we have something to laugh about for years to come.
I believe that the best thing about a destination wedding is the relationships you build with all of the guest. It provides two families and close friends the opportunity to truly unite as one. Plus, the days leading up to the wedding gives everyone a chance to make lasting memories of YOUR special day!

3. Perfect Wedding for Travelers at Heart

At some point in your life, you have probably said to yourself, “I want to travel more.” It is an exciting adventure that ends up on many people’s bucket lists. Embark on a new chapter in life by kicking it off right with a destination wedding. Life is more fun when you are with your best friend, so start creating long, lasting memories at a destination wedding and build the foundation of a marriage that will be full of new adventures.
