Unless you have a degree in public speaking, the Maid of Honor speech can seem kind of scary. Here are some tips to help you write your best speech!

1. Do NOT Procrastinate

Procrastinating is probably the worst thing that you can do for just about anything, and writing this speech is very important to your bff (the bride). Keep a note open in your phone so you can add ideas no matter where you are! Try to have your speech done at least 3-4 weeks before the wedding. That way you can give it some retouches if necessary.

2. Make It Personal

You were picked to be the Maid of Honor for a reason, so give us some backstory! Everyone wants to hear a funny story about you and the bride. Don’t forget to share something about the groom too. A wedding is a union between the two of them, so try to share something about you and the happy couple. Give them their well wishes and a thank you to the remaining bridal party.

3. Practice… Actually Practice

Okay, so you’ve written the speech, now what? PRACTICE! You don’t need to memorize your speech, unless you are up for a challenge. Practicing helps your familiarize yourself with your speech and become more comfortable speaking it aloud. No one wants to trip over their own words, so practice until you can’t practice anymore!

I think this is a no-brainer, but DON’T forget to have fun! This will be a day to remember for the rest of your life. Try not to get too stressed out. Your bff will love you anyway!
